Don Smeller serves as the Vice President of Construction at Tropic-Kool Mechanical Services (Tropic-Kool), where he leads the construction division with a focus on estimating, project management, and delivering high-quality design-build and HVAC/Mechanical solutions. With more than 40 years of experience in the industry, Don plays a pivotal role in driving project success, supporting business development, and upholding Tropic-Kool’s reputation for providing the highest level of service. 

Since joining Tropic-Kool in 2021, Don has brought expertise in both field operations and project oversight to his role. His career includes 27 years dedicated to estimating and project management and 13 years of hands-on experience in the field as a sheet metal worker and superintendent. This well-rounded background allows him to bridge the gap between design intent and real-world application.

Don holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Erie County Community College. He has held licenses as a mechanical contractor in North Carolina and Florida.
