When Southeast Culvert began constructing a new manufacturing facility in Dade City, Florida, general contractor Ash Enterprises turned to Tropic-Kool Mechanical Services (Tropic-Kool), A Fidelity Company, when the project's original mechanical contractor determined the specialized process piping scope was beyond its capabilities. Having successfully collaborated on multiple critical projects in the past, Ash Enterprises contacted Tropic-Kool to determine whether the team could take on the highly specialized work.

Rather than relying solely on drawings, Tropic-Kool traveled to the client's existing manufacturing facility in Georgia to observe the production process firsthand. Working closely with the owner and project team, Tropic-Kool invested the time to understand the material conveyance, compressed air, vacuum, and chilled water systems that would ultimately support the new facility.

Technical Depth & Excellence

Armed with a deeper understanding of the facility's operational requirements, Tropic-Kool — working alongside Smart Building Technologies, A Fidelity Company (Smart BT), Ash Enterprises, and the broader project team — provided engineering support, Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordination, and installation of thousands of feet of specialized process piping connecting exterior material silos, interior mixing systems, and manufacturing equipment throughout the plant. Smart BT also integrated controls for the facility's chiller, air rotation units, and pump package, providing reliable comfort cooling throughout the plant while enabling remote system access for monitoring and temperature adjustments.

As construction progressed, the team also helped address design gaps and refine portions of the mechanical system as the facility evolved, ensuring the infrastructure continued to support the customer’s operational goals.
